Lorraine Queen discusses her debut novel: “Just One Little Pill”

Bookpoint welcomes Lorraine Queen, who will be discussing her debut novel “Just One Little Pill”.

Howard Odoms is an American serviceman stationed in Dunoon during the Cold War, where tensions rise between Americans and locals. The locals generally do not want to engage with the sailors, except for young women seeking adventure, which the Americans gladly provide. The Anchor Bar is one of the few places that serves Americans and admits Black servicemen like Howard. He enjoys sex and engages in it frequently to cope with the challenges of racism he faces, and though Howard plans to return to America once his posting ends, he soon learns that the past can be difficult to escape.
